It will be a trip to Ireland filled with song, games and Bible lessons for children ages 5-12 when Beaver Community Church hosts “Emerald Crossing – An Irish Adventure Through Psalms 23,” Aug. 10-14, 9 am.-noon.
The main goal is for them to realize Jesus is their Lord, and he is their shepherd,” said organizer Jessica Oswell about the VBS program that will feature 40 vetted volunteers (through a background check process) thanks to the combined efforts of Beaver Community Church, 24720 Highway 101 South, Beaver; Pacific Coast Bible Church (Pacific City); and Blaine Community Church.
The VBS curriculum will take kids to a different Ireland location each day while also teaching daily themes including: “Lost to Found,” “Wrong Path to Right Path,” “Fearful to Peaceful,” Grumbling to Grateful,” and “Shaky to Sure.”
During each three-hour day, children will spend about 20 minutes at a variety of stations, each with a different focus: snacks, games, crafts, Bible, and verse stations. There will also be a closing assembly filled with songs and a short drama.
“VBS is a good time for the kids to come and hear about the gospel and what Jesus has done for them,” Oswell said. “They can hang out with friends and play games. They’ll have a fun time while learning more about God.”
Parents can register their children in advance at beavercommunitychurch.com/vbs. They can also register on site.
