Are you ready to let your hair down — so to speak — and strut to the beat of a different drummer? Sportsman’s Pub-n-Grub’s long-revered Halloween-themed party known as the “Hooker’s Ball” promises ghoulish fun for all.
This year the party is set for Saturday, Oct 31, starting at 7 p.m. Admission is $10 with a portion of the proceeds going towards the Nestucca Rural Fire Protection District.
The party will be held inside and out of the Sportsman’s friendly and fun setting. The festivities will also include a chance at valuable prizes via a costume contest. Past celebrations have featured a wide range of costumes and this year is expected to be no different.
Setting the tone for the night of dancing will be DJ Charles Wayne.
The Sportsman’s is also offering a designated driver for the event. To arrange for a ride, email ashroys@gmail.com.
“My whole philosophy with the Sportsman is to keep it exactly as it has been for years,” said Sportsman Pub-n-Grub owner Ben Johnson. “I respect what Rob Royster built and carried on from Don Penater and want to keep it going exactly as it is, and the Hookers Ball is a big part of the Sportsman. I think people respect old traditions and places and value that it will be the same every time they walk in the door, no surprises, just fun.”
